First Episode Psychosis Clinician (Post-Doctoral Associate)

Job description: This position is supported by funding from the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to expand the first episode psychosis program Specialized Treatment Early in Psychosis (STEP) at Connecticut Mental Health Center. The post-doc will primarily provide clinical services with opportunities to participate in and/or conduct independent research and community outreach and education. Clinical responsibilities include serving as the primary therapist for patients in STEP, conducting thorough diagnostic and psychosocial assessments, co-leading Social Cognition and Interaction Training (SCIT) groups, facilitating Family Focused Therapy (FFT), conducting educational workshops, and participating in the developing of new interventions and treatment manuals. Training and supervision in specialty interventions is provided.

Job requirements: Doctoral degree or candidacy in Psychology or MD is required. Clinical experience with psychotic illnesses a must. Training in first episode psychosis services; cognitive behavioral therapy; and group, family, and individual modalities preferred.
